Review of M14 Doctor Bolt Assembly Tool

I wish (yeah, right) I could get paid, but the market is just too small. Besides, It's more fun to horse around with these tools and realize, 'I shoulda bought one years ago.' attitude.

Anyways, I've been doing the Claven2 method for the past 20 years, and having my wife help out as the 'third hand' during the re-assembly process. Always give yer wife about 5 minutes warning, then progressively down to the 2 minute warning. Once you have the ejector spring aligned and in place (I'm pushing with a fired .30-06 or .270 case, since it's taller), I get my wife to tap away with a plastic hammer at the top of the extractor... that's all!

Now that I have this tool, life is a little less hectic and less chance to sproing the bolt parts all over the bench or shop floor... Been there, done that!

Shredder, for a moose / deer/ bear gitter or zombie defense, NO you don't really have to go out and buy one of these tools, just use the "honey, be ready to come down to the workshop in 10 minutes." method!! ;) Worked for many years in my house :D

Cheers,

bARney

Not knocking M14 Doctor's bolt tool because I have not seen one.

I have the tool from Brownell's and what do I use? A 30-06 casing I picked up off the ground at a range. Works great.

many folks with the brownells tool use the 3006 case method hehehe , and many have switched from thier brownells tool to the current canadian made tool.
some guys use a lee handloader...... some guys use a production press......
some guys load thier mags by thumb...... and some guys use a loading tool like the Lula

Thanks Hungry & M14Doctor.....

Aww hell....., now I'm gonna have to explain another purchase to Domestic Niner.... ;)

OMG! How did I live without this tool for so long? I watched the tutorial video in this post twice yesterday. I bought the tool this afternoon through the M14Doctor website. I have just disassembled and reassembled my bolt twice without a single problem. Thanks to Dave for the extra customer service by getting the product into my hands so quickly and with so little notice....on a long weekend too! Of course Thom's knowlege and expertise is evident.

Glad you like it Grant, and only too happy to help out when the impulse to buy calls you. ;):D
