just received my p226 grade 2 in the mail today and i am very happy with it.it shows a little wear on the outside. left hand side has some holster wear at the front of the slide. there is also a couple chips on the left front of the frame, trigger guard, and under the hammer on the beaver tail.only scratch i can find is on the front of the grip frame. most of the visible wear was on the barrel. but the gun is in overall very good condition and most of the wear could have been done in a couple of range trips and is not noticeable unless you look hard. i would not have paid the extra 100 for the grade 1 and kinda like having blemishes on the gun as i wont be worrying so much when it wears from my holster or gets a scratch on it.
pics were taken right out of the post office box all i did was wipe the oil off the outside.

barrel was dirty from test firing.which i do not think is a bad thing as it means they really tested it before letting it leave. Action is very smooth and trigger pull is also smooth and doubly action is heavy but consistent through the pull. I have a pair of hogue wood grips on the way and will post pics when i receive them. i will also post pics when i get a chance to take it to the range. i am a little light on words performance wise right now as i have not shot it yet.

Good to know what to expect. I just ordered a grade 2 from SFRC. Was wavering towards a new one but I figured the finish would wear quickly in IPSC anyway.

I saw a Grade 2 for $699 locally, that was in better shape cosmetically than this one. Also saw a couple that were quite beat up. If you want the nicest one, it's always helpful to hand pick it in person.

Sig's are made extremely well, you won't have a problem with this one. The old style grips are getting harder to find on a new 226, I like them better than the E2 grips.

Quite a bit of wear on the rails and barrel. This pistol hasn't seen any grease in a long time. No cause for concern though. Just make sure to use grease in those high wear area's from now on. Sig's are built to last.;)

i tried to buy one locally but when i went back to buy, it was gone. condition was on par with this one maybe worse. it was a dak though and price was 720 plus tax. i got this one for 680 with shipping and tax from sfrc and single action is really nice to have. im going to try using froglube paste on it as i have read good reviews about it.

to be honest the camera makes the wear look worse than it actually is. exterior is almost perfect with some minor scratches and holster wear. the wood grips should be here on wed and i think they will really class it up.

I have well over 5000 rounds through my 226 in 40cal and it does not have any finish removed from the top of the rails.

Like others have said, either shot lots or ran dry. Make sure you grease the rails from here on in and it will last.

Frankly, I wouldn't sweat the round count thing - modern guns, especially well made ones (like German made Sigs), are extremely hard to "wear out" - there's no way that gun has half as many rounds through it as my M&P and I'm not even considering retiring it.

Lol how many rounds.

Sigs have been known to go past 100k rounds in the past. Very likely pistol will still be kicking when you are not.
