I have an EP5. Fantastic optic. Ive had a few now and had no issues. My opinion of youre on the fence of an SH4 or an EP5. Get the EP5
Review/Opinions on Arken Optics?

Here's the thing with optics reviews. People who've gone and made a purchase often justify their purchases with favorable, biased reviews. Rose-tinted glasses, and all that. Organizations or publications receiving advertising money from optics vendors often behave the same way. They'll all deny it, claim no skin in the game, whatever, but regardless I haven't put much consideration into reviews. As a result, over the past 10 years or so I've only purchased scopes I can go and handle in person. I don't always buy them in person, but I will definitely go to the Cabela's optics counter with a list of scopes to check and work through them all to form a conclusion. In this case, I'd try to find a vendor with a favorable return policy who carries the scope you want to check out and pull the trigger on it. You can box test its tracking, verify the eyebox, check the eye relief, and test the optical quality without mounting it. Just bring it outside/to the range and point it at a target.
The combo add on's are usually discounted down south, the price for an EP5 with the discounted combo is 816.15Cdn before shipping and tax for an American.
Great value. Up here the Scopes are a bit more expensive and there is no discounted combo option.
The only thing I'm not getting now is the hats but they will be available soon

In the recent past from what I saw being offered in Canada, the accessories were partially available at an inflated price and also offered separately with even higher prices.
I'm pretty set right now for optics but I was considering trying out an Arken when they first hit the scene given the prices down south, it's sad how a few hundred extra dollars can demotivate a guy.

If you are looking to spend less go with the sh4 there is nothing wrong with them

I had an EP-5 and replaced it with a Vortex venom. I really liked the turrets, reticle, and all the features but the glass was not clear and I had a hard time focusing on the target. It wasn't foggy, more like distorted everywhere but the center dot.
