Review Savage 12 6.5-284

I think some others have reviewed this rifle but at last I got around to doing so as well. Take away message: Even though I'm not a huge Savage fan I think this is a great entry into F-Open and well worth considering.

Looks to me like that is a benchrest model, I now as I have almost a dozen savage F-class rifles

if the price was right you did okay............but it is a benchrest model, F-class has a flat rear stock, not the hunter profile with the slope to the wrist like yours......either way they shoot stupid straight and are great entry package rifles, shoot them out and rebarrel..........repeat.........

Yep - you are 100% right. I checked the Savage site to confirm. Clearly, I ain't a Savage aficionado being more of a Remington man. Anyway the review still shows that it is a great shooter

a lot of F-class shooters prefer to use a bipod rather then a front rest, no option for rail mounting other then the savage FTR rifle which comes with a factory rail.

I have the same rifle in 308. Bought a Sinclair front rest and a bag for the rear. Worked well.

But I guess under time limits, it takes longer to re set up.....
