Timing? Nope. Some ppl say they heard other ppl think it has something to do with employees of unnamed retailer were using "converted auto" as a selling point while talking to potential buyers... That's the word on the streets of GTA.

Okay but which store so I can point and laugh

Who sounded the alarm on these?

Please don't tell me it was another Shooting Edge / J.R. Cox sort of situation like we had with the Swiss Arms

I was reading this thread: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...Restricted?p=19640437&viewfull=1#post19640437

Check out Post #7 of the above thread.

Somebody wanted to rebarrel their Micro Tavor from R to NR, but couldn't find the correct FRT.

The Importer sent in a specimen for a physical inspection.

Whether that's related to the individual's rebarreling attempt, I don't know.

The answer is, (allegedly) a sample was sent in for physical inspection due to no specific FRT for the "MSW" model.

NS doesn't not give a flying F about firearms, legalities, OIC, prohibitions, they are STRICTLY a money making machine who sells a product, it just so happens the products they sell/import are firearms, they are not true firearm enthusiasts at heart, ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY TO THEM!

I think we should just calm down a bit... It's only been 12 hours and the thread is already at 15 pages long.

Its night so we better just sleep for now and wait for a reply tomorrow. A lot of people have already contacted their respective retailers, and the retailers are also asking the importer/distributors.

Hopefully we'll get something constructive the next few days...

My cash goes on this is why it’s all gone Pete tong

This is going to end badly for whoever sent the specimen in

If they are converted auto then in theory they should be legal for anyone with 12(3)?

No, the only CA's that can be owned by individuals must have been continuously owned by a grandfathered individual since whatever day in (I believe) 1991 or 1992.

These were never full auto, the are semiautomatic only, they don’t even have the auto position on the selector, not saying the don’t make an MSW that is full auto, but these were not, my understanding is the are police semiautomatic version only,

I was on the fence of getting one when they first came in, glad i didnt now. Such a shame tho, they look fantastic.

it will be interesting to see inside the trigger system or frame if there is any welding point?

It is very obvious as to what these were. Something negative for gun owners/businesses as a whole will be coming, guaranteed. Probably disbanding/dissolving the verifiers and leaving that entirely up to the rcmp.

North Sylva is so f*cked if the ones imported into canada are the same. US retailer openly saying you can convert them! They had to know being the original supplier of the NR guns. They would have checked them and known what to look out for. Also, what kind of goofball buys a restricted surplus rifle to turn it NR?????

I know a few people who did. And they got to keep the short barrel too.
