Would a progressive not be a lot to keep track of for a new reloaded?
Doesn't have to be. I only use two stations on my Pro 1000. Powder dispensing and bullet seating.
I resize at a single stage press, again in 1K batches, and that goes pretty quickly. I could probably do this on my progressive as a single stage but choose not to.
Prime with a hand primer, that way I get to feel that each primer is seated properly. Also, not slaved to the press for this stage (watch TV, hang out on CGN etc)
Finally, throw powder and seat bullets on the progressive. Two stages are easy enough to keep track of.
In all I get to handle all the brass 2-3 times which give me opportunity to cull the flawed ones (split cases, bulged case etc etc)
Sound tedious? Wait until you do that on a single stage turret press.
You can do it all on a progressive in one pull, but you had better have the press mounted to a rock solid bench.
