So, I moved away for the university school year last year and let my range membership expire. I finally returned to Ottawa, renewed my membership and received a new LTATT, and got back out to the range for some handgun shooting, and boy am I rusty after having not shot for nearly a year. I just figured I'd share a pic of the "revolver family":

The 29-5 was my first "big" caliber revolver (.44 Magnum). I bought it a couple years ago with my tax return and don't regret it.

I recently picked up the 625-3 in a local deal and this was my first time shooting it. Impressions? It's nice, and shoots beautifully. Perhaps it has to do with the heavy weight of the gun, it makes .45ACP feel more like a .38 Special in terms of recoil... I don't know. This is my only stainless gun, and my only gun with Pachmayr grips, maybe that's why I didn't exactly fall in love with it. I'm more of a blued/wood kind of guy. I may just end up selling it; how many S&W N-frames does a person need? I'll have to take it out a few more times and see if I fall in love with it a little more.

The Police Positive was a 12.6 prohib. A friend bought it on my behalf and brought it to a local gunsmith for me, as I am about a decade too young for 12.6 to have even been a possibility for me. I had a leftover 6" barrel (from a project that never happened) cut to 107mm, recrowned, blued, installed on the gun, and once its status was changed to restricted, it was transferred to me. It's a .38 Special and it shoots fairly well. A little small for my hands but it's as close as I can get to a 4" revolver without going antique status, so I like it. The front sight is aftermarket and was on the original 4" barrel, and the rear sight is adjustable, and appears to be from a S&W of some sort.

Anyway, I just figured I'd share the "family photo". I'm not a big revolver shooter and I prefer a 1911 or Hi Power, but it's nice to have a few of them around. :) In any case; it was nice to get back out to the range! Let's see some of your revolvers, folks!

I have to agree with you on the blued steel/wood grips on a revolver. Far superior in my opinion. If I'm going with a rubber grip though, I prefer a Hogue Monogrip to anything Pachmayr makes. They feel more solid and look better.
