Revolvers: what is your favorite grip and why?

I have a ruger GP100 with a houge finger grouve grip.

A smith model 27 N frame square but that I am still undecided on.

When I used to carry a S&W Model 10, I've used the regular wood grip that came with my revolver, then tried the Pachmayer grips which I found to be too flat for my hand and then my new Model 10 bull barrel came with the Hogue grips, that was sweet. Hogue worked the best whether it was for quick draw and double tap or aimed shots. Wet or dry conditions. Over the years, my issue weapons have changed, but I've always switched the grips to Hogue and have never looked back!

I prefer the Houge finger grips on my Python.
The original wood grips are too large for my stubby hands and are also too slippery.I find myself repositioning my hands after every shot.
The Houges are smaller, stickier and give me a more positive grip with no slip when I fire. Pachmeyers are too hard a rubber and I like the soft rubber in Houges better.

I mainly have S&W revolvers. If they don't have the factory grips (I think only one does) the rest all have Houge softer rubber grips.

I have a real nice set of Houge laminated Rosewood grips for a round butt N frame but I don't have a gun to put it on yet. :(

Pachmayr grippers go on all my wheelguns...

I had the Hogue finger grips on my old GP100, but I preferred the original grips to them. I've not tried Pachmayr, but wood ;)

After 16 years carry a Model 10 I prefer the Houge grips over the Pachmeyers. Pachmeyer has a few selections to chose from and one of their grips comes real close to a Houge. The exposed backstrap is the way to go, it allows a much better grip height and any finger grooves help control the flip.

I like the Hogue grips as well. The rubber is softer and the grip has more of a rounded feel as opposed to the hard rubber flat style of a Pachmayr. (For my hands anyway...)

I've used pachmyr, and hogue on my service revolver. Hogue wins in comfort, grip, and durability in all enviroments mother nature throws at us. I use a model for round butts, I thought it too small in my large hands but I've never had tighter groups at 25 yards using .357!

Like others I too used to have Pachmayr grips, but after a few years they had a tendency to harden  and were no more comfortable that the originals. I have been using Hogue for about 5+yrs now and swear by them. They are extremely good on the autos (fingergroove type) and help to absorb recoil on the larger caliber revolvers. If I choose to switch from factory, Hogues are the grip of choice for me.
dB:)

Hogue vs. Pachmayr

Hoques are comfortable grips not question about it, especially the "soft" ones, however Hogues have a main weak point in their attachment system. Just break off the piece holding the grip to the butt & your Hogue is now useless. This is the reason I went from Hogue to Pachmayr. Carried a S&W Model 10 for around 15 years... The Hogue grip will eventually fail after "X" amount of draws from a holster. Seen lots of them fail... :(

I like the wooden factory grip on my Dan Wesson .357 but the Hogue Monogrip w/ finger grooves fits my hand better.

I plan on getting a exotic wood one with finger grooves from Hogue, that way I get the wood look and feel I like with a more rounded contour and the finger grooves I like.

Having big hands I like the covered backstrap and no finger grooves of the regular Pachmayr. On all my S&W's, now and in the past.

Soften recoil and give a very good feel for direction.

Don't like finger groove grips at all, or the harder feel of some Hogues.

Second to the Pachmayrs I like the standard S&W wood grip.
