Looking for a non restricted Black rifle either in 223 or 308.

Looking to keep my budget under $3000.

What are your opinions on the RFB and the TAR 21 and if you have experience with them both which one do you prefer?

Also Im a lefty so which one is more lefty friendly?

And are the XCR or ACR fair to compare to bullpups?

I've owned all four in your list. I kept the RFB over the tavor as its a .308, better for hunting. The tavor was more reliable. I sold the XCR for a tavor, and found the tavor didn't suit my needs as a long range gopher killer, so I sold it for an ACR. Love the accuracy of ACR and the trigger compared to the tavor.

I found my RFB to be super finicky with mags until I got some LAR-8 polymer mags, now it goes bang everytime.

The RFB can also be finicky with the adjustable gas system. There are like 50 settings. That said its still a non-restricted .308 bullpup that's the same OAL as a 10.5" AR, so it rocks. I added a battlecomp to it and couldn't be happier. I'm running an elcan specter DR for optics

I have both the Tavor & RFB. If you're going to hunt, RFB... If you're going to plink Tavor...

WRT being lefty friendly. The RFB switches to lefty in about a minute. The Tavor needs a lefty bolt & is more involved to switch things over. Neither here nor there, BOTH guns will suit your needs & are lefty friendly...

Cheers
Jay

I was doing a lot of research and the Swiss arm Rifles are highly recommended but there is something about the RFB, maybe its the fact its chambered in 308.

I am definitely going with the RFB.

Most likely I will be buying off the EE, is there anything I should look out for?
for example older models might have problems? or things that might void the factory warranty, i read somewhere that threaded barrels void the warranty. Is there anything else I should look out for?

Really appreciate the advice. best board ever

if you want Vault to honor the warranty, don't get a threaded bbl unless it's the Desert Storm model which was threaded by Vault and warrantied in Canada (not by Keltec).

There are two generations of RFB. The second gen has a more adjustable gas system with a re-designed gas piston and a different bolt carrier design that uses a more robust impingement block.

I have the first gen and it works fine so long as you don't over-gas it. If you do, you could break the gas system (Vault says nobody in Canada has done so yet). If you get a choice on the EE, look for a second gen though. They would not have made improvements for no reason IMHO. That being said, my 1st gen is fine and if you get one, I'm sure it would be fine too.

I went a local store and one guy show me a brand new RFB with the bolt chrome came off
also he told me they didn't use good grade of polymer like other brand like or HK did
The only advantage for it just the 308 which noone make a 308 bullpop and it's the only one on the market. But as the building quilaty he doesnt recommend it

I am not sure if he spoken the truth or not

I vote Tavor (and of course a shameless picture post) ;)
