OK, so far all I can say is how surpised I am at the size and weight of the RFB compared to the Tavor - it's waaay smaller than I was expecting!

Comparative range report (and more pics) to follow when my proper optic (a DMS-1) arrives... and when I pick up some ammo!

Still need a forward flip-up sight, a bunch of mags (I was disappointed it didn't come with a 20/5 mag) and a rail to mount a foregrip :)

NICE NON-Restricted bullpup goodness!!! Yehaw, can't wait till I get mine from Lanz Shooting Supplies... Couple months to go...

Cheers

The RFB trigger feels like a normal trigger (which is ludicrously good for a bullpup). Better than the LMT MWS308 trigger I tried!

.

How is the RFB trigger compared to the tavor?

The trigger on this thing is incredible! I never thought the one on the Tavor was that bad, but this one is not even comparable :D I do like the Tavor mag and bolt release locations better, though.

where did you get the rfb and are they restricted or not

Bought it here on the EE! (I buy pretty much everything here :) )

My RFB showed up today. I was going to mount a nice small Nikon Monarch 1.5 - 4.5 but the Rings I chose have a bad screw so I can't mount it.... Anyway, so in the meantime the only rings/scope set I could put on was a Millet DGS 1-4 on Burris tactical 30's. The whole set up doubles the size of the gun!!! I'll be changing that as soon as I can.

But I do own both now, and yeah, the RFB is WAY smaller, and the trigger is friggin amazing!! I didn't get a 20 round mag either, but that doesn't bother me that much, the 5's are better for the hunting purpose I intend to use it for. I don't think it's anywhere near as fast handling as the Tavor, and it's heavier of course. I also thin the Tavor is actually a little better ergonomically. The grip areas, including the centre carry grip, seem better placed or thought out. It also shoulders a little better. Takedown is also simpler, but with the RFB you can access so much more for only a little more effort.

Basically, the guns have their own purposes, and will do well in their roles.

I like the RFb's short LOP as well. Mag changes are quicker on the tavor, but my RFB is definitely smaller than my tavor.

The trigger is way better. I'm currently looking at brakes for the RFB, brordo and ngyukon have had theirs done. I don't know which brake would be best for muzzle flip and recoil reduction.

I'm anxious to give the RFB trigger a try as well...Hopefully today sometime after work (Canada Post Permitting) :D. I also never thought the Tavor trigger was that bad - it wasn't great, but it was in no way unusable. And I too prefer the shorter magazines in the carbine - I'd like to see the 10 rounders that midway sells (pinned to 5 of course), as I think the size would allow easier manipulation.

For those who have shot them, have they noticed any issue with the charging handle reciprocating as the gun cycles? My luck it'll smack me right in the grill, or tear DNA of my paw during firing :D.

I'll have to make a little time today to hit LeBaron and get some "food" for the new fella... He's probably hungry after his trip....

I haven't noticed any issues with the charging handle causing problems while cycling. Mine has been having quite a few failure to feeds, so on one round the action was stuck half open. I pulled the charging handle and it wouldn't move so I really yanked on her. It moved, and I tore my thumbnail and cut my thumb knuckle pretty good on the bottom of my elcan.. I had the rifle tilted facing the ground so the charging handle was facing my chest when it happened.

Ouch Ka-Bibble! I think you need to take the Elcan off and send it to me... I'll punish it accordingly :D

I'm anxious to get my hot little hands on the RFB... I see a relaxing evening of beer and complete disassembly... I'll keep a box of bandaids nearby just in case...

Pics of my original post, or the one with the necessity for Kleenex???:puke:

As it turns out, there is no joy in RFB land this evening... A perfect night - Kids in bed - Wife at Yoga.... Alas, Canada Post has updated my delivery status and extended the time it takes to get a parcel 450km from 5 days to 7.... No wonder so many letter carriers get hurt when someone goes postal... they moooooovvvve soooooo slooooowwwwllllyyyyy..... Ah well...

Well, got the optic I wanted for it - Millet DMS :) Now I'm just checking the mail every chance I get, looking for my flip-up front sight and mags! The one five-round mag it came with just isn't doing it for me

Hey Throttle_monkey1, you said you are using the elcan on your RFB..
Is it the DR? If so are you using the 1-4x or 1.5-6x ?
I'm just waiting on my RFB, and I have a nice new 1.5-6x 7.62 spectre dr to put on it and I'm hoping it will suffice for deer hunting..

CobraGT, can you take a couple pics of the 'view' through your Millett? How do you find the dot?

Cheers & Thanks
Jay

I went with the 1-4x. It'll be plenty for hunting out to 300m. I think it suits the RFb perfectly.
