I have an 870P with a stock spring of 21" (4shot) and the spring I received from you is made for the +2 shot ext at 48". I have the +1 shot extension from you as well and am wondering if I need to cut down the spring to fit into the tube. It seems way too hard to compress enough to get the cap back on the tube. I figured 48"/6 shots = 8", so i was going to cut 8" off to have it work for the 5shot tube its now has due to the +1 ext.

Going to wait for someone's reply before I start snipping the spring.

Here's the build so far.

SJ supplies a 48” spring so it can be used on many different configurations. You need to just cut it. Start long then trim it bit by bit. I went a touch too short on mine as the last round in the tube doesn’t have much tension on it. It will still load to the chamber but I’ve ordered another one and will keep it just a bit longer. The spring they supply is also a different strength.

Shotgun looks good by the way.
