Skinny starts here:
The G6 platform is a very strong and rigid frame that is designed to be both modular and rigid for caliber versatility and long range performance. This rifle uses a hand selected 18" long barrel in high strength 4150 steel. The operating system uses a gas activated rod and cammed bolt head for extra strength. The barrel is surrounded by a triangulated structure that protects the barrel and makes for a rigid bipod platform.​

Rifle overall length is 36.5"
Rifle weight without magazine is 6.5 pounds-estimated
Magazine type m16 for .223/5.56, aftermarket for the 6.5 Grendel™
Adjustable length of pull
Furniture options, American walnut or aluminum
Trigger system-AR15-possibly

I like the looks of this and the price is pretty good as well. Is this made by the same Rhineland as the R22? If so I hope that this thing isn't as horrible as the R22 turned out to be.
 
Yep, same company but they seem to be somewhat squared away. The 3rd gen R22s are on the way out and people seem to be happy. I'd like one of the G6's in .40SW with a 19" barrel or 9 X 19. As long as it is non restricted. I'm looking into it. Maybe I can get a proto.:)
 
If they put a non-restricted tube on it, for $800-ish, and the option of an aftermarket (Read: end-user swapable) 6.5 Grendel kit, I would take a long hard look at it, especially if they use AR15 trigger kits: drop NM kit and you have a sweet rifle!

BUT - show me some steel before I get too worked up, otherwise, it's just another XCR!

Folks reported that they were happy with the 2nd gen R22s as well. Still have 15% of them here that I can't get to work. I recommend letting them sort out the design for 3-5 years before buying.

Why is there a scope rail on the side of the receiver near the cheek piece?
This is only a prototype, the part that looks like a scope rail is a part to tell us were to do some more machining. It will not be there on the production rifle.​

Knowing rhineland it starts as one and then becomes the other...
Anything from the states takes 2-3 years before its worth buying. During this period the US market ends up being the test dummy as they work out the kinks. Expect the same for the XCR.
