Is the rock island armory mig22 available in canada? I haven't seen it for sale on any major sites and it never seems to pop up in discussions on this forum. Educate me please.

I really like these. Heavy and substantial feeling. solidly made. reliable from what I have seen.

My only problem with them is that you only get one metal mag with the rifle and you can't find any metal mags for sale anywhere. you can get those crappy plastic ones but they don't work well, from what I have read.

Oh and, no threaded barrel, at least on the ones I have seen.

Were it not for those two things, I would have one for sure.

You have obviously handled one. Have you shot one as well? Do you know any dealers with these in stock?
Thanks.

no, never shot them, but I did a fair amount of reading and watching reviews.

There was a used one at International Shooting Supplies a few months back, but I couldn't locate a second mag so I let it go.

I have one, it's $450 paperweight. Mine won't cycle and when I called RIA about warranty, they said they have no one in Canada to do warranty work, but they would get back to me. That was 10 months ago. I didn't bother getting back in contact with IRG (that's who I got mine from) as I have also had terrible experiences with them.
As stated, mags are a problem. The plastic ones are stupid expensive and look silly, so I only have the one metal one. I had a piece on rail put on the hand guard as there isn't anything to mount a bipod on and I found the non-adjustable stock has a weirdly short LOP. I had to get a slip on stock pad to get it to a reasonable length.

It shot well, but is a pia to disassemble for cleaning. Also, the frame is aluminium and has several screws that thread into it and I foresee stripped threads at some point in the future.

It looks cool, but I would say steer clear......
