Good day Everyone,

I'm trying to do some research on this Bentley & Playfair RIC Type Revolver.
What makes it interesting to me is the Toronto Police Force stamp on the side #303
I've looked up the FRT 118673 and it's listed as Prohibited.

Does anyone have any details of manufacture dates or when TPF purchased them?
I've found a past sale of one at Wards Auction in Edmonton TPF# 299 and was sold as an ANTIQUE.

Call the CFP, get patched through to a tech. and ask. They may have a serial number range, and be able to tell you what they accept as antique.
Is there an actual serial number on the pistol? B&F retailed the pistol, but Webley would have been the actual manufacturer.

I've been in touch with one of the techs and the only information they have is manufactured between 1860's - 1900. So I need to find some more information before an Antique FRT could be created. The one sold through Auction they have no records on file...
I've reached out to the Toronto Police Museum to see if they have any information

It may very well qualify as antique if it has an obsolete caliber as well. Perhaps the TPD historian can advise of the calibers in use for that era. I have seen the TPF Webleys RIC#1's classified as Antique in 442CF. Others in .320 Rev Short can also qualify. Unfortunately all the records for Webley from that era are gone as I have discovered on many occasion trying to reclassify and trying to confirm date of mfg to the satisfaction of the CFP can be difficult..
