I thought I would now post pictures of great revolvers that, for their own safety, Canadians can't own. Regards from your American cousin, Richard :D

A Confession by the Master

On another board I am known as Master Richard. As Master Richard I want to confess I haven't enjoyed doing a post anywhere any more than this one. The Canadians/Canadiens have taken everything Laserlips and I have given in stride. Lastly, I admit I truly enjoy the time I spend on CanadianGunNutz. Regards, Richard:D

Bottom left is two old Colt Cobras. You can distinguish the earlier models from the exposed ejector rod vs the enclosed ejector rod on the newer nickel Detective Special.
The grip inserts on the Cobras are "Tyler T Grips".
Hope this explanation helps.

Indeed it does. Thank you, sir.

We love you too, Richard!

Almost forgot about this old Spanish Guardia Civil BM..

It's a nice pistol, fun to shoot, quite accurate.. (All for $139 or so).

After seeing all the toys in this thread I couldn't resist, so I dug out my collection of evil wrongdoers to add to the board. I have another Derringer in transfer limbo and it should be here in a few weeks. Breaks my heart that I can't pass these on to my kids.

Wow... Nice collection!

I don't understand how the Canadian gun laws work in a situation such as this.

When you die, what happens to them? Does the Government confiscate them from your family and destroy them? Are your heirs compensated in any way for them?

Yikes.. That sucks.

Nice collection tho!

Someone please step in here and correct me if I am wrong, but from what I understand the executor of your will becomes the legal "owner" of the firearms and must, within a "reasonable" period of time, provide for their sale or transfer. Then the feds take what doesn't get sold or transferred. Forget any payment. It's just another government long term method of getting rid of guns in Canada.

I had hoped to be able to pass mine on to my daughters but they'll have to be content with the restricteds and rifles; that is, if they still are allowed in years to come.:(

dorm: That sucks... Looks like there would be a "Grandfather type" clause that would allow a member of your immediate family to apply for a permit for those firearms that are restricted.. If the person applying qualifies for a permit then the guns should be transferred to that person.

But trying to figure out logic in anything the Gov't (yours or mine) is doing is getting harder all the time. Especially regarding firearms.

Still, nice collection..

Hopefully, over time, our 12(6) handguns will be legally sold to legal buyers in the US. As our 12(6) gun owners age and die, the flow south to the US is preferable to allowing the Kanadian government to confiscate and destroy (without compensation to the heirs of the 12(6) owners) these irrationally prohibited firearms.

There goes my cousin Richard stirring up trouble again.:D

I wouldn't let the pictures impress you too much as I've seen and shot some of his guns and they look even better in person.
He often calls me in the morning on our ways to work but I think he really stays home and cleans them every day and hangs out on gun boards.:D

I was going to post a few snubs of my own from a mere 40 miles of our border but the board won't allow me to post pictures. What's up with that I wonder?

I suppose some of you could come visit and shoot my and Richard's guns but don't ever let him talk you into carrying his range bag for him I warn you.
He conned me that way once which was easy since I'm his much younger cousin. Thing must have weighted eighty pounds full of guns and ammo.

Richard really isn't as mean and nasty as he comes across here though. Poor guy just hasn't been able to get over those mean old Aunts he was made to visit in Ontario as a youngster. Maybe I could bring him back for a lesson in humility while I shoot some short barrel AR's and shotties with you?:D

I will eventually move to the US and live half the year

I will eventually move to the US and live half the year - this way - I get the best of both worlds:D :D
