Just got one of their stocks from their bargain bin - leftover, unsold unfinished stocks, discounted. This one is semi fancy walnut Rem 700 short BDL, pad on, in their "Tactical" style.
I am quite impressed with it. The inletting is sharp. Were in not for my oversized recoil lug and #7 Rock barrel, the barrelled action would almost have been a drop-in. The fancy grain is in the grip, and butt. Action and forend are correctly laid out straight grain. Pad on.
The style in no where near as extreme as on their website. There is a drop in the forend of about 1/2" in front of the magazine area. No flutes in forend. Forend is 2 1/2" wide, flat bottomed. Near vertical grip with palm swell and heel of thumb recess.
Externally, the contouring is smooth enough, the lines are there - BUT -the stock is too big, unless you are a giant. ALL external surfaces are going to have to be well worked down, perhaps 1/4" or more.
The action is going to be solidly bedding in compound, with pillars, so this being a wood stock is irrelevant from the standpoint of stability. No reason for a range rifle not to have a bit of figure and coulour.
