Rifle Actions

No kidding how can you not like beer. I have zero experience with a Pristine or IBI action but have shot a KS long action quite a bit. Very nice action and smooth as glass. I would say it’s as nice as my defiance deviants. If I was doing a full custom these days I would get KS to do the build with their action and barrel as long as they would give me a half moa guarantee
Yes, why wouldn't anyone like beer. :ROFLMAO:

It looks, smells, and tastes like horse piss!;)

Everyone should love this? Right!:ROFLMAO::sick::unsure:

I know it's an acquired taste, but just could not warm up to it. :ROFLMAO:

It really looks like horse piss though.

If I was a drinker, which I'm not, I would probably drink vodka or some other hard liquor.;)

Use to drink somewhat during my police career, but found it too expensive. Even back in the 1980's and 1990's.:unsure:

Can't say I miss it at all.:)

I think ks arms is the only logical answer.

The one I really don’t like is the pristine. I just read their page again. I’m not a fan of the weatherby copied locking lugs, because it doesn’t sound like a precision locking system that’s going to have starighter/square surface contact than a solid 2 or 3 lug working on one face. I just don’t have faith that they can machine that well, or that they’ll wear that well and there’s probably not even any benefit to it. I want something that is going to lock on close with a one piece bolt. The big barrel nut is a no go for me as well, unless there’s some reason to switch barrels all the time. I saw a couple early reviews where guys had broken the bolt handles off as well because they’re screwed together, but I’m sure they’ve changed that design by now. It just seems like they looked at the best feature of most hunting rifles and then built an action around that. Rem 700 footprint, interchangeable weatherby bolt head and a savage barrel nut.

The ibi ultimatum also has a floating bolt head that sounds like it’s meant to be loose to lock in the lugs? How many of the top benchrest actions are using a floating bolt head? I think the guy who designed those is a prs syle shooter named Ryan. Other than that it can be used with or without that barrel nut. Definitely would be my second choice.

I’d seriously consider their hmb action for a hunting rifle though. Maybe I’ll see them at a show somewhere and get to check one out.

If switching barrels is the goal the any prefit capable action would work. Why complicate it with nuts etc?

The easiest of the them all IMO is the Terminus QC (two allen screws and the barrel simply screws out - is only hand tight), the other need to be clamped / torqued so a little more involved but not a bunch more if you have the correct tools.

I have to agree with you on the savage barrel nuts. Not a big fan. Don't get me wrong they work and are easy to install/replace but I will be changing to shouldered barrels once I burn through the ones I have. That said Pristine does make a 2 lug option but I believe its their magnum action so that limits cartridge selection.

I own both a deadline gen 2 and ks sa3R. Both are nice action. The deadline has a lighter bolt lift and close, but is slightly easier to bind when running a little sloppy. The bolt head is replaceable allowing for cheaper caliber changes if that matters to you. Ks feels a little more solid. Something about the lock up it feels like a vault. Both run really well. Both have been used in dusty PRS events as well as freezing cold conditions up to minus -25 hunting conditions. I like both actions. Ks barrels are absolute hammers too.

Yup ! Toss the nuts and go recoil lug REM Style and be done with the Goofeeness ! 🤣 lol

I was never a fan of barrel nuts. To set a precise headspace and a torqued barrel required a barrel vise, and nut wrench and an action wrench all at the same time. Shouldered barrels are easier and more precise in the old "on again off again" game.

KS Arms gets my vote. I have a KS 3Lug repeater paired with a 7.5t KS pipe in 6BR . Thing literally drills holes, as another nutter said, .2's-.3's all day, never had an issue feeding or ejecting. I run the MDT 6BR mags with an MDT XRS chassis.

6br in a ks arms Wolverine Is it a good combo for not feeding perfect for prs build ? After Reading all your comment about feeding problem and custom action I'm a Little bit confuse

Its the case length of 6 BR that sometimes will cause some problems with the ejection, as I mentioned above with my KS 3lug, the fix is very simple, refer to my previous post/ reply above, or can can specify to KS to do it.

3 Lug actions can be problematic for 6BR but from all the comments on here with people who own them / use them for 6BR it sounds like they are good to go.
