LMFFAO ! :d Maybe i will Befriend them both and we can all have a group HUG ! ;) I do like chromoly barrels too BUT i do too prefer SS barrels for Hunting Outdoor rifles ! CM barrels need a coating too where as SS can just be Bead Blasted or Polished ! I have had a LOT of Factory rifles that were CM barrels that shot VERY Well :d

Cheers RJ

Have bead blasted in the past terrible results always dirty and showed hand prints.

Paint is the new coating of choice really it sticks to both.

I have painted a couple of CM barrels with Endura Coat which is an aerosol epoxy. Needs a bit of basic prep but gives decent results. The Edm store made it up to my color specs while I waited ... a couple of years ago, a can that was sufficient to do a half dozen barrels was $30.00.

I thought you preferred facts?

Stainless vs Chrome Moly? What is the application? One rusts easier than the other, I believe SS starts shooting to its potential quicker, but other than that fill your boots.

Rifling? I can almost guarantee that you will not be able to tell the difference.

Bead blast to a satin finish instead of a dull matte finish and problem solved. Paint is useless in any real application unless you are constantly re applying.

The bead blasts I had were very poorly done.

I consider Cerakote paint do you?

Bluing comes off as well but you know that.

SS still can rust but that isn’t news to you either.

Use anything and it will get damage stuff takes a beating just going in and out of a gun cases or being 25 miles from nearest light bulb.
