Rifle Basix Rimfire Trigger Review

This review is intended for anyone who is interested in replacing there rimfire trigger with a Rifle Basix trigger. I am not an expert or a gunsmith. The following review is simply my experience. I will cover the following topics:
A.) Purchasing
B.) Packaging
C.) Installation

For this review I will be using my Savage Model 93R17BTVS .17 HMR with accutrigger and replacing the accutrigger with the Rifle Basix SAV-RAT Savage Rimfire Replacement Trigger.

A.) PURCHASING
I purchased a Rifle Basix trigger from there website ww.riflebasix.com/ You can use (FRAUD ALERT) to purchase any product from Rifle Basix. Once you determine which trigger you want from them just click “Buy Now” on the product and follow the instructions. My particular trigger was $89.95 US shipped.

I placed the order for my trigger on Jan. 26 and it arrived at my door on Feb 3. only 8 days from North Carolina to Camrose, Alberta. I emailed Rifle Basix on Jan. 30 to ask for a tracking number and they returned an email within the hour saying “Trigger shipped on 1/26/09 to:** ...****Camrose Alberta CANADA*** No "tracking number" on first class US mail***** Bob”.

B.) PACKAGING
The trigger was shipped out the same day I placed my order. It was packaged in a bubbled envelope and the trigger was inside a plastic bag with the installation page wrapped around the trigger.

The outside of the package was clearly labelled with “RIFLE BASIX INC” on the out side with a graphic of a rifle man. The packaging was not discrete as to the contents and it did get the attention of my secretary when she brought me the package. Not a big deal, but not ideal either.

C.) INSTALLATION
Rifle Basix ships there products with detailed and easy to follow instructions printed in color. There are detailed photos and a step by step guide that explains the relatively simple procedure. The instructions can also be found online on Rifle Basix Website. ww.riflebasix.com/SAV-RAT_Instructions.pdf

Installation was EASY. Simply follow the installation instructions and you will be fine. The hardest part was setting the trigger to the correct weight. If the “weight of pull” adjustment screw is set too loose the bolt will not catch. It took me about 10 min of fine tuning the screw to achieve what I felt was a safe minimal trigger weight.

Once reassembled I did notice the trigger had a slight side to side wiggle. Not enough that it would bother me, but it was enough to notice.

The entire installation procedure took me about 30 min.

The trigger breaks very cleanly, and the trigger has a anti-creep sear adjustment screw to eliminate any creep felt in the trigger. The weight is fully adjuctable similar to the accutrigger.

I would recommend this replacement to anyone who is wanting a lighter trigger pull on there rimfire or wants to replace there accutrigger. Feel free to PM me any time with questions regarding this review and I will do my best to answer.
