rifle bore cleaner

G96 isn't a copper remover, neither is Hoppes #9...

I used Sweet's 7.62 for years but have switched to Wipe Out. I also use JB Bore Cleaning Paste on occasion. It is not harmful what ever to steel and removes fouling quite quickly...I will use it before the chemicals if the bore is heavily fouled... and of course don't forget bore bore guides.

Wipe Out for me as well. I still have a can of JB that's served me well since the late 70's on really fouled barrels. I follow cleaning using either product with a
patch moistened with a bit of Jet Lube 12/34 to remove any residue & prevent rust.

I use any old nitro solvent to start and finish the job, and a pro shot (?) copper solvent for the brunt of the job. The pathces come out looking like blue jeans. I use JB bore paste from time to time too. It’s great.
