Rifle build questions inside, experienced opinions needed

Great thread!

I have to get into a .224 varmint gun for coyotes in Nfld. (max diameter - hunting regs)

I have a Stevens with a match-chambered 10FP .308 barrel that I started out shooting long-range with that I now use as a loaner, and I am thinking that I could re-barrel it with a match .224 barrel rather than adding yet another rifle to my safe.

Is anyone shooting 22BR, and where does it fit into that barrel-burning chart?

Any other .22 cases fit a .308 bolt face?

I would estimate the 22BR falls in the 900-1000 on the OBI as the 6BR is in the 800s and the 22PPC is close to 900. 22BR is a fine cartridge! Finally shot mine after a few years in the safe and was amazed at how easy it was to load for. Varget and 52 MK - 1st load
If you want something really fast you could go with a 22Cheetah - but that's a real barrel burner. 22-250 is always been good. both of these are .308 bolt face.

Yep, the 22BR tags at an OBI of about 930ish. I hear phenomenal things about their accuracy... I would imagine a 22BR shooting 80-90 grainers would be incredible.

How about .223 WSSM.
I'll go halves with you on a reamer.
That will give Gaillard lots of time to make a few barrels.
Those Newfie yotes will never know what hit them.
