Are there any gunsmiths who might be looking for a project ?
I'd like to get a 400 Brown Whelen built this winter...problem is, I've made a few calls and have been getting the same response..."Why don't you build a 9.3x62 instead??"
My answer to that is I've already had a couple...presently have a 35 Whelen, a 338-06, and many others, but all I want to try is a 400 Brown Whelen.
I've got a nice 03 Springfield and a new Bishop stock for it and I can do all the stock-work.
Everything else would be up to the builder and I have no problem picking up all the required parts, barrel, guages, reamers etc., whatever is needed.
