Rifle Builder Recommendation Needed

Yours still looks to be in factory configuration. Mine looks identical to yours currently. The one I pictured as an example has a bunch of little things done; pad, steel grip cap, trigger, bolt handle, 3 position safety, QR mounts, new front sight, checkering on the front, ebony tip, bluing, etc. I’m essentially looking for a semi-custom look in the old stalking rifle style.

Argh... don't mention the term old stalking rifle... remember that thread?
Was great until the semi automatic gang discovered it, lol. Then everybody whom had a T97 or M305 shorty had a 'Stalking rifle' too. Lol.
I actually have a Franken rifle down in the Bunkhouse. Double set triggers, a Lyman peep and a knife handle for the bolt... scrubbed K98 with SA Cavalry stock. Needs some finishing ( I suck at that) and it is ready for stalking. Although it seems a bit girthy for the role at this time... that 'Finishing' thing again.

That thread started off fine, then face planted. Why can’t we have nice things like the Nitro Express forum :(

I have a similar rifle, a Mauser Model B with double triggers and a factory installed Lyman 48. Hopefully you can get yours up and running soon! Mine is coming bear hunting next month :)

Something like this a HUSKY 98 IN 9.3X57 CHAMBERED OUT TO 9.3X62.Ebony tip added Oberndorf low bolt handle, glass bedded, cross bolted, barrel cut to 21 inches and sight put back on.Just waiting on the red recoil pad and a few more applications of shaftol to blend the crossbolt .I am going to check the forend with english flat checkering, should be a nice little meat packing rifle.

I love it, looks awesome

As do I and I'm "building" one right now. Just waiting for the Recknagel 3 position safety to finish it off.

I came very close to having one done up as well. With ALL the pcs assembled, I had 2nd sober thoughts and realized that I really do not need another rifle like that. The faux Rigby in 275 will do just fine.

Make sure you post a thread on that one. :)

The VZ 24 is a Czech built mauser. I have one, 1937 sporter in 8X57 wearing a Williams peep. Not nearly the same league as some of these customs but it is quite accurate with the PRVI ammo I fed it.

Looks really nice!! So the action is as good as any other Mauser action in the 98 line?
