rifle camo/painting ideas?

With a lot of the hydro dippers, the prices really add up if you want scope rings rifle and stock dipped, some places it's well over $400 with shipping, they look good, but it seems like alot of money. For the coin though, other options (like buying a new rifle package like a Howa with stock and action or maybe even scope also seem viable)

I used the mossy oak obsession vinyl wrap kit and am happy. May try the A-tacs FG vinyl wraps if I do another one.

Does anyone know who sells Brownells Aluma Hyde 2- coyote paint in Canada or Ontario.? I used krylon and looks good on my camo rifle but I want a color more like magpull dark earth and Brownells spray can will do for the lower half of my cz75

This question pops up now and then. My thoughts on this are straight forward, I don't own any firearms with painted stocks and I would not buy any with painted stocks.
The problem with these is durability, paint jobs will not stand up to normal handling.
enjoy

Reviving an old thread here, I picked up an old Mossberg 190 16 gauge in really rough shape, barrel was a bit rusty outside, stock was dented and damaged with a cedar extension! I painted it first with the khaki, then covered it with different size elastics, then green for the next layer, repeat the elastic treatment then black for the final colour. It looks more glossy in the pics than it really is(have to work on my lighting), I clear coated it with satin when done. I may knock that down a bit yet with a scotchbrite pad, have to wait and see. I took a pic to compare it to a 20 gauge of the same vintage but in much nicer condition.

I did mine like this, not so much camo as just a webbing look but everyone I show says it looks sort of camouflaged.

For those who did paint theirs, how long did you let it set to get the paint smell off or how did you get the paint smell off the gun?

Sorry for the large pictures not sure how to make them smaller
