I have seen pics on here of rifles that have been painted by there owners to have a nice camo finish. I would like to do that to one of my rifles, but have some questions...
Do you have to strip all of the existing finish off of the stock?
Do you just mask over the ejection port?
I have Butler Creek flip up covers on the scope. Can i just paint the whole thing scope and all?
Do I have to use something different to paint that?
What kind of paint works best?
And lastly. Is that camo tape any good, or is it just a waste of time?

If it matters it is a Remington Model 700 Varmint Special.

TIA.

Stay away from the tape. When it heats up, it gets sticky. I've painted a few. I use camo paint from crappy tire. If your going to paint everything, plug the barrel, inside of the reciever and chamber. If the base material is sound, scuff it up with fine sandpaper, prime and paint. Start with a solid base coat, and go from there. Here's a couple I did.
