Rifle For Youngster

My brother would like to buy his 10 yr old son a 7mm08 . Hes looking for a shorter length of pull (12 in) , not to long , and something with a magazine. What do you guys recommend ? Thanks

A Ruger compact in 7mm-08 would be ideal. I wish my first rifle would have been that combination.

Find the young lad a nice 303. They have soft recoil and you can get one fairly reasonable.

Wade through the Tradex site for a 7X57 or a 6.5X55, have the stock cut to fit the young fellow, load up some mid velocity ammo, and get him shooting.
