I can see that the thumb on Right hand shooter would be a benefit to have safety on left side as the grip would not be released to fire. Also with the safety pull back to fire has less likely to fire if finder is on trigger as posed to forward to fire. It has to do to rocking of hand motion

Quicker than a Mauser flag for sure. Putting it on the left of the bolt for a right hand shooter has me asking why.

The flag safety is pretty fast to go from the middle position to fire. And your thumb lands on the left hand side of the action which 8s helpful with heavy recoiling rifles.
