I purchased a Zeiss Conquest HD5 from Cabelas for $1100 next day they jumped to $1350 online, physical store hasn't upped the price but they will soon.

I think with the economy in west slowing down, low Canadian dollar the western gun dealers aren't gonna making the money they have in the past few years. Gonna be some lean times for the next for years..perhaps decade.

I worked in a parts wholesaler for years.
When the Can $ was par with the USD my cost would be $100 on an item (example). When the Can $ dropped to .85, I payed $115 (understandably) for that part. When the Can $ jumped to 1.20, I payed $100 for that part. Because the U.S. suppliers saw that they were loosing $ on their $ and jacked the price to cover it (cause they could).

Some things (like guns) you're at the mercy of the dollar and ultimately the mfg.
