rifle problems help

I have reloaded in the past, but have not set up my bench for awhile... No room in the new home. So I have been shooting factory ammo. True enough about the reason to buy a new gun... narrowed it down to a kimber or a sako... just hve to fiquer out what calibre. :)

When you had the rifle on your quad, did you have it in a scabbard that is mounted semi-vertically to the wheeler? I have seen these scabbards wreck a scope due to the rifle resting in the scabbard with the scope bottoming before the barrel touches the bottom of the scabbard. Basically like a piledriver. Doesn't take much for some...
Just a thought.

Right on gunnrunner, I,ve had this happen to me. Another issue that a lot of people don't consider as foriegn material, but is very deterimental to accuracy, usually causeing vertical stringing but also random groups, is oil obetween the bedding and the action, this is especially noticeable when the rear action screw is to tight in a stock without pillars. bearhunter

I have seen several scopes damaged by the kolpin gun boots. The scope takes all of the guns weight, and all of the bumps and jolts when the atv is travelling. They have had a serious design flaw for years, yet many people are still unaware of it.
