I have probably have owned atleast 100 rifles over the years. Almost all of which i have sold. Most of which were nice average hunting rifles, atleast 30% of them i had to sell due to my ex-wife. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! But life goes on. Not sure what my abslolte favorite was, probably my top grade bar,in .243, or my rem .280 in tiger striped walnut stocks. I also let go some junkers, i wish i still had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What was your biggest regret?

Not a rifle, but my desert eagle with the 50 AE and 44 mag barrels. Rifles, my CX4 storm (rectifying that one shortly), my Winchester 94's in 30-30, 357mag, 44 mag, and 356 Win..
 
I haven't sold many guns. Probably the best one I did sell on was a Remington 788 in .22-250 that I had bought for coyote hunting. I didn't pay too much for it and it shot well, but I really wanted to use .223 so I sold it.
 
Had a nice Brno 21H in 7X57 with the famous set triggers.
Sold it as the length of pull was chopped down waaay to short for me.
I wish I would of kept it for my youngest who likes shooting.
This would of been the perfect rifle for her.
Back in the day I sold it, well she was to young for this.
Regrets, yup.
 
An M1903 Mannlicher Schoenauer, an absolutely mint M1908 Mannlicher Schoenauer, several Brno 21H's and a Sako Fiberclass in .338 Win Mag.
 
375 h&h in a ruger no#1 safari is my biggest regret.
223 rem in a model 700
6mm in a remington cant remember what make
257 in a model 70 winchester
and probablyy a few more i have forget about.
 
I lost my stuff in a fire 10 yeas ago, but it has pretty much all been replaced with better. There was a nickle plated M-29 S&W that had the smoothest action of any revolver I've ever owned. My Gaillard barreled M-700 .222 in sorely missed when I think about it. My semi-custom Ruger #1 in .416 Rigby was a daily companion, but it wasn't the rifle that my current Brno 602 .375 Ultra carbine is. Mostly I miss my books, magazines, manuals, and data that had been collected throughout my lifetime which I must now retrieve from memory, what was that .45/70 load I used to like??!! I had magazines dating back to the '40s, I had correspondences I had saved from Warren Page, and I had books dating back to the 18th Century.
 
I once had a "Baby" Beretta .22 short that was like a jewel and fit inside my hand. I sold it to help pay for going back to school when I was really struggling with two kids and mortgage rates that were incomprehensibly high. I think I got about $60 for it. So I lost what would have been my prohibited license for a lousy $60.
 
I dont think I regret selling any of what I had as what replaced it was usually better. FWIW I just picked up a Savage 99 250-3000 and am taking a bunch of loads out to play this week. There is always so much more to look at on the EE. I shop frequently and occasionally end up in trouble but its never a bad thing. We are fortunate indeed to have such a resource available to us. Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention.

-My all original New York State Militia Remington Rolling Block in 50/70. Would happily plough through huge tree stumps that thwarted my buddies 300WinnyMag.
-My Belgium Browning BLR 308 that I parkerized and bed coated the stock.
-My original Colt 1911 in 9mm. Can't afford one now.
 
My Savage model 99 250-3000. It fit me very well and I loved the action as it cocked when the lever was pulled up. Could chamber another round with the rifle still aimed and on my shoulder using the ring and pinky fingers.
 
During the recession of the early 80's my family was young and one winter money was tight, no work anywhere.
I sold the most beautiful Browning ABolt medallion with gold lettering and a 4-12 scope, in the days when a good 4-12 scope was the price of a used pickup. Bought it all new and it was a major purchase for me at the time.

Suffice to say with that gun/combo if you could see it you could hit it, period, and I mean long range as in the better part of a half mile.
With a young family it was an easy choice to sell it............

But I'd give a lot to have it back.
