Rifle Recommendations for Small Statured 9yr Old

I grew up with an air rifle in hand roaming the rural property we lived on. Wore out a pair of Diana M 34’s in the years between 11 and 19, conservatively put WAY North of 300 000 pellets through them.

Any recommendations that you have used for a smaller kid? I want to set him up for success right out of the gate because I know that the sheer volume of shooting I did was incredibly helpful to me as an adult.

To clarify… the ask is:
-physically smaller and lighter air rifle.
- .177 cal
- scope compatible
- what have you handed to your smaller framed kid to use, that they could physically handle, and operate on their own?

Savage Lil Rascal 22LR. Was my daughters 1st rifle at 7yo. Accurate, safe af. Bolt action, single shot. I got her one in pink. Put a pic rail on it and mounted a red dot. Still have it and will never sell it. Fun lil rifle.
 
IMO the Crosman Classic is good BUT the 'under-lever' is a 'finger pincher' AND tiring to c*ck after the first few shots -IME. The 2240 would be OK but the cost of CO2 will kill the fun for Dad . A 'sub-500' single shot like a Ruger Blackhawk / Airhawk in .177 has a light enuf cocking pull for a "small stature 9-year old" I think, and a rifled barrel and dovetail mount.

I just weighed my Ruger Blackhawk and it's 6.5 lbs, with a light c*cking pull. I have the 1322 so I know about finger pinch. I have a Crosman 1077 which is semi-auto 12-shot CO2 - it Weighs 3.5#. All 3 are pretty accurate for 'under $150-ish, the Blackhawk is a Chinese-clone of a Diana airgun. I bought a bunch of CO2 from Princess on sale for less than 50c/cart and the 1077 gets about 40 shots before they get weak, 50 becomes visible as you see the 'drop'.

I am assuming that if you're hunting short 9 year olds, you would want a fast, flat trajectory round with high magazine capacity, with a semi auto being the best for quick follow up shots. Maybe something in a 22 win mag or 17 something or other, but in a pinch you could potentially use whatever is at hand.
