Rifle Scope Mounts - Preferences?

I have one set of Talleys and one set of Leupold Std. on one of the target rifles; all of the rest are Weavers. I'm ok with them.

No joke! Anyone know where I can get one?!?

They are tough to find, esp here in Canada. I have a classic 50s vintage rifle coming that I would like to top with a 3x as well but will probably have to go with one of the easier to find M8 4x or a gloss VXIII 1.5-5.

Or an M8 6X?
With the ocular screwed owt up to yer eye bawl.......................

LOL ...... Those M8 4x are a good vintage-esque scope. I have one of the later ones here in matte. I like the long tubes for long actions.

While it isn't as classy, that is why I went with a Bushnell Elite 3200 1.5-4.5x32mm on my Winchester 70. Mounting length aplenty. That Winchester action is LONG. Didn't want to have to use extension bases.

Although reading this thread makes me want to use classier bases/rings!

I have a real assortment, including everything from no name brand to leupold, talley, and warne. Heck, I even bought a couple sets of inexpensive tascos not too many years ago which worked out just fine. Lately my favorites have been good old weaver steel bases and their lever lock rings. Also have some of the Leupold lever locks which fit on weaver bases, but am not sure they still make them ... just like the idea of being able to pop the scope off anytime anyplace, then put it back on just as quickly and easily.
