Rifle scope reviews

o, I'm not hunting by flashlight, I just want to be able to make sure I'm not BEING hunted!

Heh - i figured you meant bears :)

I'd actually like to see meuller come out with a 1-4 in the very same scope - it would be the perfect balance between having that 'both eyes' red dot effect on 1 power and having some magnification when you need it at 4 power.

But i'll tell ya - i LOVE that 'shotgun' reticle. At 5 power, the 'ring' covers 15 inches at 100 yards, or 30 inches at 200. Man - that's a sweet little tool for doing a fast and dirty estimate of range that's pretty accurate. I would also think that it'll go the other way - for example if you saw a bear and were able to estimate the range - the ring would allow you to pretty accurately guage the size of the bear.

And it is a FAST reticle - made for getting on target 'now'. Your eye just automatically centers the animal in the circle and puts the dot on the vitals. And then it's all over.

Not AS sweet as a 1X red dot for really close in work - but with a little bit of practice at 2 power it's just fine for 40 yard deer busting and bear defense. You'll see the bear in the scope even close in, which some of the cheap scopes i've tried have a lot of trouble with.

I am picking up my Mueller Tactical 4 - 16 X 50 later this week here from the retailer in Winnipeg. I did a lot of investigation and asked a lot of questions ands all indications are that this is a very good scope for the money. See the previous post for information on Mueller Scopes.
