Excellent weather. not too hot and no rain. But, the fog came in off the lake and the 100 and 200 yard relays could barely see the targets. We kept saying "Service rifle conditions. Deal with it."
I shot a Winchester 94 in 30-30 at 100. The least "competitive" rifle I have ever used - and shot the highest score I ever got. Go figure....
Great fun. Most guys don't get to shoot Snap (3 second exposures) or Movers, and many have never shot at 200 and 300 before.
The idea is to bring out the rifle you want to evaluate. Some guys bring hunting rifles. Some old military clunkers ( shot a #4 and a K31 today). And some keep coming back with the favourite Black Rifle and work at getting better with it.
When my target came up at 300 yards, I could see the south end of a creature going north, spreading his cheeks for me. I took a shot and hit the right nut.
Never seen this target before....
