Excellent weather. not too hot and no rain. But, the fog came in off the lake and the 100 and 200 yard relays could barely see the targets. We kept saying "Service rifle conditions. Deal with it."

I shot a Winchester 94 in 30-30 at 100. The least "competitive" rifle I have ever used - and shot the highest score I ever got. Go figure....

Great fun. Most guys don't get to shoot Snap (3 second exposures) or Movers, and many have never shot at 200 and 300 before.

The idea is to bring out the rifle you want to evaluate. Some guys bring hunting rifles. Some old military clunkers ( shot a #4 and a K31 today). And some keep coming back with the favourite Black Rifle and work at getting better with it.

When my target came up at 300 yards, I could see the south end of a creature going north, spreading his cheeks for me. I took a shot and hit the right nut.

Never seen this target before....

Sounds like a lot of fun! Have to make it down sometime and give it a whirl. Great way to get more people exposed to service conditions with gear they already have.

It was a good day to be on the range as always. I would have liked to be shooting in the challenging conditions. Excellent group who came to shoot and not give me any grief to have to worry about. Many thanks to Chuck, Richard and Shotgun Steve for helping out as Range staff. Many thanks to everyone else for the assistance of cleaning up the range and having it ready for march out. Thanks Jim for running the matches this year and making it fun.

May I suggest:
4 in mag and 6 in charger. Does work with 1 inch scope tubes. Not sure about 30mm tubes.
