Their kits and parts are top notch, I have hear that they are slow to deliver. Track of the Wolf sells some of the Rifle Shoppe's kits, you may want to check with them first.

can you order percussion in kit or only flint from usa?

I don't want to steer you wrong, I believe a flinter is no problem but a percussion is different. I know guys who have purchased the barrel and lock separately. I believe that because a kit is unassembled it is not considered a firearm yet. I am sure someone here would have the definitive answer.

Flintlocks can be shipped from the States OK.Percussion barrels are the "receiver" in a M/L and therefore have to be imported just the same as a modern rifle,i.e.import papers and export papers.

A few questions - a percussion firearm is considered an antique under US federal law. Is a US export licence required for an exempt firearm? If we are discussing unfinished parts, how is a flintlock barrel distinguished from a percussion barrel? If an antque firearm is exempt from export/import controls, are replacement parts for antique firearms subject to controls? In Canada, is it the percussion barrel, the breechplug, or the assembly of the breechplug and the barrel which is considered to be a receiver, and therefore subject to registration?

I have a flinter made from parts from the rifle shoppe.The castings are excellent but the kits offered from them are not kits ,more like assembled parts and you should have a lot of experience building muzzle loaders befroe attempting to build one.Getting parts from them is a hit and miss proposition in as normally the wait time is around 1 to 2 years .They are notorious for not telling the truth about orders and making up excuses.Before you order I would suggest you go on one of the muzzle loading message boards and ask some questions and they will confirm what I have just said with their own horror stories

I ordered parts from them two years ago 80% of the parts were badly casted

(rejects?).I believe they sell their crap outside the U.S.Very bad experience.

Very very slow on delivery.Won't buy from them again.Buy from Track of

Wolf instead.
