I have owned two 24C over the years
One appeared regulated (older one) and the second variant was way off.
I hear internet rumours that the older Stevens and Savage 24 (22/410) with barrels brazed together tended to be more regulated.
Can anyone provide thier own experience?
I have a late model Savage 24P .223 over 3" 12g. The barrels are well regulated. It's scoped 1.5-6x for coyote hunts. L-R is bang on. The point where the vertical duplex hair thickens gives me centre of the shotgun pattern at 40 yards. It's a good setup. If I ever come across a good deal on a 22lr/.410 I'll buy it and let you know re the regulation. Would make a sweet barn gun.
That is what I like about the new BRNO Combo guns .... the barrels are not soldered together ... and they were regulated at the factory .... and can be readjusted (regulated again) if needed with a couple of screws ....

Velmet in .222 over 12 at Accuracy Plus. They are a good, fast, no nonsense company if you chose to deal with them. $599 and the ad said that it is in excellent condition which to this store means almost new. I've bought many guns from them and I have not been disappointed except for the fact that they never have any sales!!! lol
Funny that while I have several combo guns I have never taken one afield hunting. I guess I just like the idea of them.
That said I have an older Brno 12g/308 and a Baikal in 12g/223 that will do for large game. The Baikals are still around and make a cost effective option.

I guess I should add that both my M6 combo guns Springfield CZ, 22/410 and 22 Hornet 410 are well registered with thier two part rearsight.
Same with FIE Bronco 22/410 I once owned ages ago.
I have one very old hammer drilling. Easy to guess that one because it has a flip up tang sight for the rifle at 50-60 yards.
I think a Zoli or a Finn Classic is in my future.

I used to live in Switzerland and hunted in a few countries on the continent.
Drillings are very nice but I would say that the 12g drillings are pretty have and a 12g SxS / 9.3x74r tends to swing like a brick bat.
16g and something like 7x65r is much handier. Don't underestimate the hitting of 8x57r, it's quite handy and has knocked over plenty of driven boar in Europe and a few brown bears too.
