I have a savage 11 in 22-2250 which shoots awesome, but when I work the bolt to eject the empty brass it won't fly out, it just pops out about a inch from the rifle and drops which really would not bother me that much but sometimes the empty brass stays in the action then it jams on me when I go to put another round in the chamber

How does your ejector look? I just pulled my Stevens out and the ejector sticks out from the bolt face quite a bit. The ejector spring is pretty stiff but moves freely when pressed down. Pull your bolt and check to make sure that the ejector moves freely and has good spring pressure. If not you may have a busted spring or some crud inside the recess for the ejector.

Bein too gentle? If you're not working it sharp enough the ejector can't do its job. Make sure its a hardware problem before takin everything apart. Dont mean to insult you but I've made this mistake before.

Spring is probably gummed up for the ejector .If you have ever blown a primer it can really cause problems. Easy to replace and give you some peace of mind.

Wut?
Check your ammo.
Could be you're using 22-250 ammo instead of the proper 22-2250.
This has happened in the past.

Every push feed I have used does that form time to time(savage and remington). My m70 cry makes the brass fly 40 feet or gently fall out of the action if I want

Could be the extractor or the ejector. Put an empty case in the chamber and close the bolt, now slowly pull the bolt back and watch the empty case. If it goes off to one side before it clears the chamber it is the extractor that is the problem. I the case stays straight until it has cleared the chamber it is the ejector that is the problem. The ejector is the little round pin sticking out of the bolt face. Take the bolt out of the gun and give it a shot of cleaner then a drop of oil and press the pin in and out a few times. Put the bolt in the gun and try an empty round, should work.
