rifled slugs in a rifled barrel

I'm no expert, but from what i understand is that rifled slugs aren't really "rifled" in that they don't spin the slug any, it's more just cutouts so it can squeeze by the choke at the end, more of a safety thing.
Sabot slugs on the other hand are made for rifled barrels and say on the box that they are only for rifled barrels.
I'm sure if you shot a rifled slug out of a rifled barrel it wouldn't blow up in your face, but you will probably get better accuracy out of sabots in a rifled barrel.

You are OK with shooting rifled slugs through a rifled barrel, just so long it's not a gas operated semi-auto...

Pretty much....A foster type slug flies much like a birdie from a badminton set....Doesn't hurt to put some spin on it...I had good accuracy shooting C.I.L slugs through a rifled barrel..Better than that I did out of a smooth barrel with the same slugs...

From different tests I've seen there is no problem shooting rifled slugs through a rifled barrel and accuracy will probably be better than the same slugs fired through a smooth bore. In one test the rifled slugs weren't far behind sabots in accuracy at 1/4 the cost. For 75yards or less I find it hard to justify the price of sabot slugs.

My thoughts exactly! The Challenger slugs are some of the best and perfrom remarkably well out of smoothbores as well...even beyond 75 yards.

Browning BPS "Buck Special", 24" smoothbore with rifle sights. 3 shots @ 50 yards (2 3/4" 12 gauge, 1 1/8oz. Challenger slugs)

Note that at 115 yards the slugs were starting to "keyhole", as can be seen in the pic.
