I'm curious to know where you guys are hitting with rifled slugs from 50, 75, and 100 yards.. And further if you'd like to add that as well. The reason I ask is I'm going to be playing with my Supernova tomorrow to see what kind of accuracy I'll get from the smooth bore barrel. Most of my deer hunting is in tighter areas, and as a bowhunter, I like to set up to have the deer/coyotes get close. I figure if I can get some constency out of the rifled slugs, I won't have to buy a separate barrell or slug gun just for shotgun season... I'll report back with my findings tomorrow but let's hear how you're shooting those rifled slugs!! (pics if you can)
 
You should be able to manage 3" groups or better at 50 and gradually larger out to 100. If you can keep them on a pie plate at 100 without rifle sights or optics you are doing great. Depending on the brand of slugs you may require significant holdover for the bullseye at 100. Most rifled slugs really start to drop off fast between 75 and 100 yds. Have fun and hope your shoulder still feels good the next day.
 
I found my Supernova with IC choke and 28" smooth bore vent rib liked Federal
F127RS - 3" groups @ 75yds.

RickP, I was wondering if you could tell me where to find that scope mount you're using, and how do you like it?

I didn't say 100 yds. :) At that range things started to go sideways. Maybe it was me, the red dot, the shotgun, the ammo - suffice to say I wouldn't hunt with it to 100 yds.

That is B Square saddle - good luck finding one in Canada. In hind sight I would just have the receiver tapped for a top mount rail. That's what I have done on my Stoeger M2000 - cost $50 with the rail.
I no longer have the Supernova. I decided I wanted a semi auto for a variety of reasons. Also decided I wanted a fixed power scope not red dot. (this could prove, in another thread, to be an endless debate).

Nice setup. I know you didn't say 100 yards, I'm just dreaming lol. I think I'll take your advice and look into getting the receiver tapped for a rail and maybe go with some ghost ring sights. Thanks for your reply.
