rifles in 6.5 Creedmore?

I haven't had the chance to get my hands on one yet but there's a stainless t3x lite for sale on the EE right now in that clambering that I'd love to buy. Seems like a really neat cartridge/rifle combination.

I don’t have one but it ain’t dying out no worries there. It’s obvious people like it over 308

I have a couple 308's and have a 6.5CM both are great and out to 6-700 yards they're no different different or standout between them. Going out farther the better BC of the CM stands out. I rarely shoot over 500 due to my ranges available distance, so it doesn't really matter to me. I'd take either happily to go haunting. However hunting anything big, I'd take the 308 with heavier bullets if I didn't have better options.

For hunting big game or anything life threatening id go 308 over 6.5 creedmoor. The 6.5 prc or 6.5-284 would be another story but 308 is useful for many things. If I were plinking past 800 or 1000 yards I’d easily choose the creedmoor instead.

I love shooting 6.5CM no regrets.

Nope, it's the other way around.

Guys are selling them after they realize that their 308 will do anything that a 6.5 will do for avg. hunting situations.
Or... Maybe they enjoyed the CM so much, they are selling their current rifle to upgrade to a nicer factory rig, or even go custom. :p

Maybe .... I wasn't implying that the 6.5 isn't the Super Awesome Fantastic chambering everyone says it is. I just think that a bunch of old crusties ( like me ) bought one on a whim and decided they liked old faithful better and tripped the Creedmoor down the road.

If I didn't already have all the deer rifles I have now, I'd own one of those and something larger for the elusive NB moose draw tags.

Haha. All good with me. Rifles and crusty old Super Fudds. ;)

It's certainly possible some guys tried them, got bored, and want to try something else now. Between me and my sons, we have a few 308s, a 708 and a few 6.5CMs. They all have their place. Tho, the 308 would be my last choice out of them. The 708 and CM are just more fun to shoot.

I honestly think even more CM rifles would be selling, if people knew how to spell it properly. Imagine how many more hits searches would return. ;)

I suspect expectations are probably artificially high due to so much paid advertising. Like everyone expects 1/4" 200m groups with factory ammo first time out. I think more non-reloaders buy into the 6.5CM then reloaders do.
$30/20 rounds for cheap factory target rounds, and $50+/20 rounds for half decent target ammo adds up quick too.
I also have doubts about factory loaded VLD pills being optimal, they really need to be tuned to each rifle.

Not interested in reloading, so after getting rid of my 6.5x55, .280, .35 Whelan etc. I promised myself to stick to .308, .30-06 and 7mm rem mag.
Works for me and I have tons of ammo. Sometimes when you read too much about something, you start convincing yourself you need one.

308 and 7mm are really all you need for hunting and target shooting. Reloading makes themise unique cartridges more ideal but not if you don’t reload. 6.5x55 would be nice or 6.5-284 or the new 6.5 prc if you like that caliber

Seeing a bunch of used rifles in 6.5 Creed all over the market including the EE -- Whets going on/ The round not proving out?

it's just popular. Whenever there are popular firearms/cartridges they will be well represented on the EE. There are also plenty of Glocks, .308's, AR15's, Remington 870's and 22LR firearms on the EE.
