No Japanese thread would be complete without pictures of your museum grade pieces Joe... :D

Here's mine if you don't mind me adding the pic. Bought about 25 years ago for $40. Same price as a box of Norma 6.5 then as well.

Fired about 4 rounds from it then and it was beautiful to shoot. (sorry about the shopped and chopped pic)

Didn't try it again until this past summer. My nephew wanted to shoot it because he has it in some video games. I test fired it before bringing him with me and below was the result, so I haven't gone any further with it.
There was a whole thread on my primer issues somewhere.

How fortunate to own history. The bayonet design is well thought out. I remember looking around in the attic of the small house I resided in while teaching at a private English school in Japan (in the prefecture affected by the tsunami). Apart from the usual things there were wooden mock-ups of rifles and on the end of them was padding wrapped on leather. I believe it is what Japanese primary school children used to train in the art of bayonet fighting. Unfortunately I took no photographs of them.

Sweet Arisakas-I have a Tokyo arsenal Type 38 (all matching, except for the dustcover) that I picked up a few years ago for $160. It's in about the same condition as yours, more or less...Last year I picked up a beauty of an all matching Toyo Kogyo Type 99 (Transitional) that I basically stole for $100. (A lot of people really don't know what these rifles are worth!) I'd LOVE to find a Type 44 Carbine, but I have yet to see one for sale in Canada....:(
