With my kids growing up to fast I have had to purchase a couple older hunting rifles and been lucky to find them for a real good price. It seems to me these poor guns have been chafing at the bridle after there extended stay in a locker...they have done well right from the start!!!! The sentiment regarding these older guns is they were designed with purpose...that purpose was not to collect dust but to be hunted....for the sake of a well built hunting rifle..use them!!!
The marlin is 1950's . The BSA monarch in 270??? has helped three new hunters to there first mule deer and another his first moose since I purchased it...it is a pleasure to shoot for kids and adults both. Do yourself a pleasure and liberate some of these older hunting rifles from lives of obscurity we owe it to them!!
