When i ordered my S&W 686 7 shots Talo i had a specific plan in mind, being able to shot 50-100 yards with this revolver...

Just finished installing my base and got from my loose stuff box a Shield mini 65 MOA /1 MOA...

This should make for an hyper fun shooting rig... JP.

This is 16 outside dots value ay 65 MOA with one center dot value at 1 MOA, it's hard with the camera to show it well, but it's a very potent pattern... JP.

Very nice set up. Jeez just another project on a shelf that has more projects than it needs or I can convince "she who knows best" what a good idea it would be. LOL

What kind of eyes do you have?

And iron-sighted 6 incher will easily hit past 150 yards without doo-dads.

65 years old eyes, i would leave behind a lot worth of real estate to recuperate my 30 years old capacities... JP.:agree:

I don't know what sort of targets you are putting out there but at least you have a rail that'll take a handgun scope for some magnification. So that's an option too.

Not sure if you know it already but the dots on the reflex sights like this are projected at infinity. So if you need any prescription glasses for distance you can wear them and both the targets and the sight reticle both become more clear and there's no need to let one go fuzzy for the sake of the other. One of those rare "win-win" times that we all too seldom find.

You going to be shooting Magnum loads to try to hold down the bullet drop at 100? I know from plinking with some .38Spl that the amount of drop is rather hellish at 100.

And don't limit yourself to just 100. It's great fun to arc them out to 200 and just aim at a bigger target.

Jerry Miculek was not born on planet earth. He is from another planet n another solar system and was sent here to illustrate how entirely inadequate earthlings are with revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles.

Watching him shoot his revolvers has me walking away from my computer saying no human can do that.....

A 6 inch grouping with my 686 Plus Talo rig at 100 yards of the bags, would be very satisfactory, got a 5 inch grouping from my Ruger Toklat 454 Casull from the bag at 50 yards and i am proud of it... JP.
