The continuing search for okay priced rimfire ammo, that will shoot half decent at 100 yards carries on.
The last 'test' perplexed me. Remington "Target" ammunition was selected and shot from the bench on a windless day, using a proven rifle & scope.
Ultimately the Remington "Target" ammunition, sometimes would shoot superbly. Only to add enough fliers at 100 yards, to turn a 10 shot, 1 inch possible group, to two or three inches........
These will be used for 25 yard pistol shooting only now!
A week earlier, with the same rifle and from the same support, I used Winchester Wildcat rimfire ammo at 100 & 200 yards, and was rewarded with much better consistancy in groups.
The quest continues.......
PS: I've tried Lapua Club, Federal Match, Eley EPS. Just looking/hoping for cheaper "good" ammo in one specific rifle.
Lately Wildcats are it, and everyone seems sold out of Remington Subsonics.
One can say, accurate AND inexpensive are rarely found in the same box of 22 LR ammunition.
