rimfire ammo for gophers & small game

IMO I think the ammo makers are starting to play the Oil game "supply & demand" if the supply is lower the demand & price goes up. That is why I stocking up before the prices gets stupid right now you guys are talking about a $4. or more increase

as for what my gun will shoot, I'm in the building stage so I don't know building 2 10/22's and a .22 pistol project is in the works soon. just desiding on a 1911 or Buckmark project. as for a bolt my son wants a Savage MKII

I have been stocking up on Winchester 333 packs & AE 40gr solids going to get 2 more bricks of each tomorrow, never thought of getting the Federal 525 packs yet.

At my local wally mart...Winchester 333s are about $14 per 333 carts. Winchester bulk is $27 per 500. By buying 3 boxes of 333 for $42. I get 2 bricks or 1000. Buying 2 bulk boxes the cost is $54 for 1000. save where ya can....i have set all my guns up to use 333s and the average kills are very high. And the bonus is that 333s work great in all my guns..

Yeah, i'm thinking it might be a plan to go back and pick up a case load of the winchesters at $21.99/bx.
Yes I have ammo, but I justify it coz if the prices keep steadily rising..I won't have to buy for a couple of years.

:p Well of course the price keeps rising, because you keep buying! If they sell by the case at 21.99, why dont we try 23.99? Or 25.99? Or _____?

If you didn't by your stock last year when the prices were low, you missed the boat.

Bah!
Not in the CTC store I was just in 30 min ago...I almost s**t my pants. Federal "VALUE paks" (and I use the term "value" loosely) for $29.99 a box!!!!
Omg! I bought those this past spring from the same store for $21.99/bx.
And just a few shelf spaces away was the Winchester HP 500/bx for $21.99 I shoulda bought another dozen boxes.

Really? Wow! I haven't bought any in over a year and a half because I bought 10 boxes of them and haven't used quite all of them yet.
I think I paid about $17 per box then.

As somebody mentioned above, even the solid nose will do the trick. When I was a kid, "mushroom" .22 shells were an exotic luxury that none of us could afford. I bought a couple of 5000's from the Co-ops when they were around 14.00 per 500. I probably have 20,000 rounds, but should have bought more. Ammo isn't likely to be going down anytime soon. Watch for sales and stock up.:p

We shoot American eagle hollow points almost exclusively.
Our 22's just shoot these the best or if not the best a dead heat with anything else we have tried and that is just about every other commercially produced ammo.
Use what you want but give these a try.
We have shoot gophers at unheard of ranges with great success.

Yup my goto ammo as well, works well with the Paco Tool, Rem Game Load is my 2nd favorite. FS

i prefer the winchester Super-X 37 grain hollow point for gophers. i have also found that federal/american eagle tend to be "misfire" or rather not fire due to light firing pin hits when the gun gets dirty.
