Just found this post over at bladeforums, the guy was posting from BC.

I was in my local funshop yesterday picking up my new .22(yay!), and the owner informed me that there's going to be a 17% price hike on .22 ammo come the new year. They were filling out their orders for next year, and the price of .22 had risen by 17%, though everything else was pretty much the same. He said they stocked up on as much of it as they could at the current prices, but once current stock runs out, the new stuff will be more expensive. The hike comes from ATK, the company that owns Federal. I'm not sure if it applies to all rimfire ammo, or just .22cal stuff, but if you're looking to pick up some of it, you might want to do it now while prices still aren't too bad.

Who knows if it's fact but it's always a good idea to stock up, may as well get it now.:)

I found CCI segmented subsonics at a local shop for 11 and change per box of 50. Shook my head twice to make sure I wasn't seeing multiples of some other number. Now that is ridiculous.

Some Walmarts around here have Win Dynapoints 500 packs for $23. They used to be around $16 a few months ago.
I had no issues with the ammo running thru CZ Kadet kit.

Based on what I see, I predict prices will come down in the new year (overproduction, parity of CDN/USA Dollar, Lower cost of materials). I am betting that the "sky is falling" claims of the resellers is to spark a will to buy, among the buying public.

Just look at the sale prices at Italian Sports (Vancouver) this past weekend. 1,000 rnds of .223 under $400? 5,000 of .22LR for $165?

Check your online resellers and look to indicator prices in the USA, costs are coming down.

Sry. Italian Sports in Vancouver. All ammo was 15% off with blowout pricing on 9mm, 40s&w, .223 and .22LR...

180 grain .308 Win hunting ammo was $14.85 for 20 rnds

Crazy sale. But Why? If costs are going up, why offer a deep discount on staples that people will pay regular prices for? Cause prices are coming down, and if they didn't blow-out that inventory, they will be stuck with it come new year.

A good example, 7.62x39 S&B Hunting ammo was $28 last year, $32 last summer and is currently $18.

Excuse the ignorance, but I am curious what you mean by Italian?

American Eagle...
