Rimfire Ballistic charts

If you use the jbm chart the bullet for .17 wsm is the hornady .172 v- max @ 3000 fps. Remember that since your probably using a bmag you have high rings so 1.75 for scope height. A 100yd zero has a pbr of 150 yds +.9@25 and -1.2@150 the round drops exponentially around 225 to 250 yds and at 350 yds falls below the optimum speed for a vmax expansion (1465, vmax is designed to hit above 1500 fps) and below 100lb energy.
Within the Sierra Infinity 6 program under "Load Bullet" "Manufacturers" are various bullets but of significance to this site are the various makers of .22 and .17 rimfire.
From there it will be used with a particular bullet, and for most they list an accepted velocity - Eley Match publishes a velocity for every lot. The program allows you to enter a different velocity.
Using their figures for standard velocity, when sighted in for 50 yards, 7 minutes are required for 100 yards and to go to 200 from 100 is an additional 18 minutes.
Once the chart is produced it can be printed. Some of mine were printed with 10 yard increments.
Wind deflection is also entered, and drop figures are in both inches and minutes.
For rimfire, most manufacturers are listed except RWS but Winchester, Remington, Federal, CCI, Eley and Lapua are there.
Since I am going to a 100 yard BR shoot tomorrow, and am sighted in for 50 yards, this is an example of what can be done with the program.

im right in the middle of this right now.
have always shot 22LR.
recently picked up a 17HMR.
2 co-workers opted for 22mags.
we got into a heated discussion about the difference between the 3.
i was interested to see by the charts the the 17HMR did not win on everything.
super surprised that it came in 2nd for the FPS.
highest velocity usually makes for the hardest hitting, no?

The 17HMR is tops for velocity (fps). It is second for energy because it has a relatively lightweight bullet (17 gr), less than half the weight of the .22WMR bullet used (40 gr).

thank you a lot!Here are some ballistic/trajectory charts for the rimfire calibers.
Software used: Point Blank down-loadable software.
Barrel Length: No barrel lenght was indicated but is most likely around 22-24".
Action type: Again, no action type was indicated but is most likely bolt action. You can expect a tiny (bairly noticeable)
loss of Velocity in semi-automatic actions because of the energy it takes to push the bolt back.
