After looking at Diopter's pics and Levi Garret saying about how big the Walther bolt was, I figured I'd post some pics of some of the bolts from a few of my rimfire target rifles.
There are two CF bolts in here as well for comparism, a C.I.L. 900 .222Rem bolt , which is an Anschutz riifle using the 54 centerfire action, and the large 338 lapua Mag bolt from a SakoTRG .
Note that the Russian Scrtyla(sp?) free rifle bolt lugs are as large in diameter
( if not total mass) as the lapua's!!
It also is a very short bodied bolt compared to the walther or Anschutz
The rifle itself is a monster and heavier than any free rifle , be it a 52, 40X, 54, whatever - my older brother figured it was used by thhe Russian weight lifting team to work out with!:D
The little 64 bolt is tiny compared to the match rifle bolts!

I just stuck it up beside the Lapua, and the diameter is almost
the same, yes!
Larger than the "Rusky" for sure,
but I can't get over the size of the locking lugs on that Russian job.

Old Badger says that is may have been designed as a multi task rig, maybe they double the rifle as a tire iron?:D
Same as the Military Zenit camera my older brother has, if it is bolted( literally) into its case you could use it as a tire chalk!
