Rimfire competition

I just signed up. I was going to get into shooting competitions two years ago but never got around to it with work and travel but winter matches definitely work better for me. Looking forward to it, two questions; how do I pay the entry fee? Second, I have a friend that is visiting from Nova Scotia, he might be interested in participating can he potentially use my rifle if he can’t get his here over the holidays?

Great news!
We’re happy to have you out,
It looks like there is a mistake where PractiScore should be taking payment....
I’ve got the outlaw administration looking into it
Your friend is also very welcome to come join us,
Options include, using your gun, using my gun, using the loner gun... as long as he has fun I don’t care what he wants to do!

Can’t wait
Check out the December course of fire on

Yes it was practiscore i didnt want to sign up for as id only shoot a few local matches. Im just in it for fun competition. I dont take it near as seriously as others. Thats how i run my skeet program at my club. Safe fun laid back. Those who want to keep and track their scores can and the others who just want to shoot or challenge a buddy do so. Id love to meet up with other rimfire shooters and have some good times but not at the cost of attending ultra serious matches

Even the top tier shooters that come from all over at the main CRPS matches are not overly 'serious'. I've been to the 2x at EESA big events and even the top level shooters are ALL very approachable and everyone is very friendly and having a great time. They are all happy to give you a detail of their set-ups they are shooting etc. Lots of comradery with all the shooters at the evens I have been to! I've seen people shoot a big 'zero' on lots of stages and most just laugh it off.

I will second that.

Chris, I’ll see you in January!

Great job promoting the sport, Chris!

Keep the stages challenging, but fun. Perhaps run an 'intro' day to allow folks the opportunity to try the same stage a couple of times, so they can asses their first attempt and make changes for the second go.

Good idea,
Thanks for chiming in!
I guess I should mention that at my outlaw matches the targets and stages are available for shooters to try again and again for fun after the match.
Ive also got a range of steel targets set up currently to about 280yards with more to come and additional barricades/props to shoot off.
I’ll have some new prototype hit indicators to try out as well!

If anyone wants to come out but is on the fence about shooting, I’m looking for a bbq chef/ photographer to help me out at the next match.
It would be a great opportunity to check things out and help me out big time as well!

Please PM me for more details if anyone’s interested

Registration is filling up fast for the December 29th event!
I’ve been working on some new targets and additional stages for fun afterwards

I’m gathering up some prizes for the prize table and thanks to the support of some fine people within the shooting community we will have a decent spread!

If anyone wants additional information, is reluctant or having troubles signing up, please ask your questions here or PM me

Im from south eastern Ontario and drive all over the place to shoot, have fun and meet new people that like guns and shooting. I shoot with a group and we travel together when we can. I like ur attitude and the effort ur putting forward to promote a great sport! I live in the Thousand Islands region approx. 45 minutes east of Kingston. How long a drive to reach your shooting site?

There is nothing "ultra serious" about Practiscore... it is simply a program to manage competitors and scoring, makes it easier for local clubs to organize events.

Longstud

That’s a good hike
Probably 5-6 hours.
I’ll keep doing these monthly matches all next year.
A better choice would be to come down in the spring when we have better weather,
Make a weekend out of it and even camp at the farm!
Keep in touch, we’ll set something up

Sounds like a plan and a good time! Gonna punch Kamoka into the GPS tomorrow and see which way I gottah point the truck.Haha. I drive a little over four to get too Orillia so another two isn't really a big deal but definitely an overnight adventure like Orillia.

There are ORPS matches at Stittsville, just outside Ottawa. Probably 1 hour from you.

Thanks for the heads up. Ive been to almost every one they've had plus Lower Trent and also Clarence creek. Scubas in Orillia three times im thinkin but old and forgetful, as well as the eastern Canadian CRPS championship two day deal with Rick Katigbak. Lots of fun and lots of great people with a lot of fun and laughs!

Do you participate at the Stitsville shoots Alpheus. Im the old guy with the vudoo and a bunch of other great guns.Guns are awesome but owner can suck at times haha.

The rimfire competitions are loads of fun, I ran some very non competitive matches. My goal was only for people to have fun and learn, met some great people and had a load of fun. Unfortunately with a new job and just don’t think I will have time I won’t be running matches again but wish I could. I think my best day was the practice day I ran with silent radar. We set up all of the steel we could find and had targets out to 400 yards. You want to see frustrated people throw a target out that far. I had great support from Elwood Epps and mystic precision ( two of the greatest guys in our industry) and had a great property owner. I didn’t use the props much but was able to keep it tough with multiple ranges per stage and target stage. The outlaw setup seems fun, but I had access to 300 and wanted to go for more length as the outlaw is based on shorter range. If you are looking for some steel let me know as I still have the outlaw package I could part with, and it gives me a reason to come to your match lol
