rimfire competitions?

What types of competitions have you guys been in with a rimfire? How do they work (competitions).

I've heard about pin matches but I don't know the technical details, really.

I'd like to get into some sort of competitions at some time soon.
 
Group of 22 Rf shooters are organizing shoots at our range will shoot 100y using Hunterclass benchrest targets. The DCRA carries them and I am sure some of our sponcers could get them for you.

Rifle silhouette shooting steel targets 40,60,77,100m.
Benchrest 50and 100 yds.
ISSF prone and Fclass 50 100 and 200yds with bipod and rear bag.

The targets are different for various disciplines. Even though there are some good off-the-shelf sporting rifles(stock) better results are achieved with a target rifle. Compination of weight,design, trigger and quality in the production of a dedicated rifle.
Some of the matches I shoot in are 'run-what-you brung'. Sort of fun knock about stuff but you learn most from actual disciplined matches.

where are you guys shooting smallbore f class?? mission? it sounds like some of us island silhouette shooter are going to make the trek over there in the new year so we can get comfortable with your range before provincals this year

I'm on Vanc. Isl. I shoot with the VISL. Their numbers are dwindling and they allow any and all to shoot with them. I shoot on their target (ISSF bullseye scaled for 100yds). Its a challenging target. I give the CF guys a run many times.

Considering the amount of rimfire shot across the country, I'm surprised this is not shot elsewhere. Smallbore Fclass I mean.
